Shooting in Washington Leaves One Dead and Two Injured

American media reported that a woman was killed and two others were injured in a shooting in Southeast Washington, D.C. According to the D.C. police, the gunfire occurred around 9 PM local time, near the border of the capital and Prince George's County, Maryland. They announced that a woman died at the scene and a man and a 15-year-old boy were injured.

The sixth district commander, Darnell Robinson, stated that the woman, who appeared to be between 30 and 40 years old, was shot in the head, while the teenager was hit in the shoulder, and the man, believed to be in his mid-twenties, sustained a leg injury. Footage from a nearby gas station showed a man opening fire on the victims, who were outside a restaurant. After falling to the ground, the teenager retrieved a gun and began shooting at the suspect.

Robinson indicated that the suspect seemed to have targeted both individuals and mentioned that the teenager was admitted to the hospital and was charged with carrying a firearm without a license and other firearm-related offenses. He noted that it is still unclear who shot the woman, who was inside the restaurant, and whether the three victims knew each other. He confirmed that the police are searching for the suspect who fled back toward the gas station.
