Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu held a meeting today with military leaders and representatives from the Russian defense industry, discussing the modernization of rocket launchers and artillery, as well as increasing their production. Shoigu emphasized "the importance of accelerating the production of artillery, rocket launchers, and ammunition, and renewing stockpiles of weapons, as the military operation in Ukraine continues, to meet all the needs of Russian forces on the battlefield."
He noted that "the solution for ensuring ammunition availability fundamentally depends on production capacity and its intensification, and reducing delivery times to the army." He added: "Today we will discuss how to organize the development and increase the production of artillery and precision munitions, taking into account the additional needs of the Russian forces," reaffirming that "federal executive bodies have taken all necessary measures to increase the production of these systems."
Shoigu reminded that "the Russian government has granted defense industry enterprises the right to utilize all their production capacities." He continued: "The Ministry of Defense has also streamlined the contracting process, reduced the volume of tests, and established criteria for selecting components, provided that the final product's quality is maintained."
