India Studies Changing the Country's Name to "Bharat"

Local media in India have revealed that the government is currently considering changing the country's name to "Bharat," and a decision may be made within a few days. According to "India Today," this matter may be discussed during the upcoming special parliamentary session scheduled to take place from September 18 to 22. During a recent parliamentary session, some Members of Parliament called for the removal of the word "India" from the constitution, arguing that it symbolizes "colonial slavery." It is worth noting that the origin of the word "Bharat" has ancient roots and has been used in Indian sacred texts to refer to the Indian subcontinent. The name is associated with the legendary emperor Bharata mentioned in Hindu epics.
