Britain: Russia May Start Targeting Civilian Ships

British Ambassador to the United Nations Barbara Woodward said today, Tuesday, that Britain has information indicating that the Russian military may move beyond attacking Ukrainian grain export facilities to target civilian ships in the Black Sea. Woodward stated that British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of this information during a phone call between them. She added that the information Britain holds also suggests that Russia has planted more naval mines at the entrances to Ukrainian ports. She emphasized that they "agree with the U.S. assessment that this is a coordinated effort to justify any attacks on civilian ships in the Black Sea and place the blame on Ukraine." The United Nations Security Council is scheduled to hold consecutive meetings regarding the situation in Ukraine tomorrow, Wednesday.
