Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Russia's Belgorod region bordering Ukraine, stated, "At least one person was injured after Russian forces shot down three missiles." He added that "the debris also caused some power lines to fall near the town of Novy Oskol, but the full extent of the damage is not yet known." Gladkov did not specify who is believed to have launched the missiles but has previously accused Ukrainian forces on the other side of the nearby border of conducting similar attacks. Belgorod borders Ukraine's Kharkiv region and has been repeatedly shelled since the onset of the Russian operation in Ukraine a year ago. Ukrainian authorities have largely not claimed responsibility for attacks inside Russia and on Russian-occupied territory in Ukraine.
