The American startup "Biofire" has produced the world's first smart gun, named after the company, priced at $1500. It features facial recognition technology, opens with fingerprint scanning, and operates on battery power. Its creators hope to revolutionize firearm safety, prevent accidental shootings by children, protect police from weapon seizures, and render lost or stolen guns useless. The smart gun is expected to be ready for use in the coming months.
Equipped with a touchscreen, the smart gun compares the user's face and fingerprint with those registered to unlock it. Up to five individuals can be registered to each gun, allowing them to access it. The smart gun features a 9mm barrel, which is larger than that of a standard gun, and is equipped with infrared biometric sensors, laser sights, and an electronic interface.
