U.S. President Joe Biden and leaders of the Nordic countries announced today, Thursday, in a joint statement that they will continue their support for Ukraine at all costs. He described the summit between his country and the Nordic nations as "very productive" and pledged to protect every inch of the territory of NATO member states, including Finland. Biden stated, "The United States is committed to Finland, committed to NATO, and these commitments are firmly rooted."
He affirmed that Ukraine will join NATO, adding that Russian President Vladimir Putin will ultimately decide that it is not in Russia's interest to continue the war. Biden continued that Russia cannot sustain its war with Ukraine for years. He said, "No one can join NATO while at war" as that would mean the outbreak of World War III. Following a summit between Biden and the President of Finland along with the Prime Ministers of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Iceland in the Finnish capital, the leaders stated that the Nordic countries are ready to enhance their security and defense cooperation with the United States.
