The murder of the child Walaa Mousa by his father's wife has shocked Iraq and the Arab world, leading to outrage and demands for the harshest punishment for the perpetrator. Iraqi media reported that the child Mousa Walaa was found lying on the ground, having died after being tortured by his father's wife.
Mousa's father is an officer in one of the security agencies in the Al-Khateeb area adjacent to the Shuala city in Baghdad. Al-Sumaria newspaper reported through security sources that the child was subjected to torture with knives, electric shocks, and stabbing at the hands of his father's wife, resulting in his death.
The child's family filed a lawsuit against the perpetrator after the police managed to arrest her while she was attempting to flee. The father's wife does not suffer from any diseases or psychological issues, and the motives for the horrific crime remain unclear.
Images circulated by activists on social media show the horrific traces of torture on the child.
