International Red Cross Resumes Patient Transfers to Gaza Border After Convoy Attack

The head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office in Gaza, William Schumberg, announced on Thursday that the organization has resumed operations to transfer patients to the Egyptian border, describing the incident as "extremely concerning" and in need of safety guarantees. The ICRC had temporarily halted patient transfers to the Gaza border after its convoy came under fire earlier this week. Schumberg stated via video conference, "The ICRC was targeted the day before yesterday, and this is unacceptable.” When asked during the same interview whether the ICRC has experienced any casualties among its staff in the conflict between Israel and Hamas, he mentioned that a colleague has been missing for weeks without going into further details.
