The Public Prosecutor of Mount Lebanon, Judge Ghada Aoun, filed a complaint today, Tuesday, against "Mediterranean Bank," represented by its chairwoman, former minister Raya Al-Hassan, and all individuals identified by the investigation from the board of directors, auditors, commissioners of monitoring, and others, for money laundering as specified in item 3(b) of Article 1 of Law No. 306/2022. This complaint follows a lawsuit filed by the legal circle of the "People Want to Reform the System" association against banks for crimes of illicit enrichment, money laundering, fraud, and breach of trust. This comes after she previously filed complaints against "Société Générale" and "Fransabank." She referred the defendants through a request to the first investigating judge in Mount Lebanon, requesting investigations to be conducted with them. Judge Ghada Aoun has been notified of a decision issued by the disciplinary council to dismiss her from service; however, this decision is subject to appeal.
