The families of the victims of the port explosion held a solidarity protest in front of the Barbar Khazen barracks in Beirut, to support activists William Noun and Peter Bou Saab during their interrogation session after being summoned by the Beirut police due to the burning of tires at the entrance of the Palace of Justice. The activists entered the interrogation session accompanied by their lawyer, Ralph Tannous, and it was decided to release them under a commitment, following the decree of the Public Prosecutor of Appeal in Beirut, Judge Ziad Abou Haidar, with their pledge not to repeat the act. Lawyer Tannous stated after the conclusion of the interrogation with Noun and Bou Saab that a commitment was signed not to burn tires in front of the Palace of Justice, emphasizing his confidence in the judiciary and stating that there was no criminal intent behind what occurred, and that the goal was simply to raise their voices.
For his part, Noun confirmed to "Wardna" after finishing his interrogation that neither he nor Peter Bou Saab had any protection, and that the commitment they signed only pertains to not burning tires, pointing out that they committed no crime and hence attended. It is noteworthy that members of the fire department were summoned for questioning, especially those who were called to extinguish the fire at the Palace of Justice but did not attend, and Judge Abou Haidar also listened to one of the security personnel in this case.
