The Minister of Tourism in the caretaker government, Walid Nassar, announced during a press conference held by the Batroun Festivals Committee to launch its programs for this season, the "nomination of the city of Batroun to be the capital of Arab summer tourism, after the unanimous approval of the Arab Tourism Organization in Jeddah by its president and members." Nassar stated, "This journey is not difficult for the people of Batroun because you are ready and have all the qualities that qualify you and you deserve the title."
The head of the Festivals Committee, lawyer Saeed Fayyad, presented the festival program which begins on June 23 with a military equipment museum submerged underwater in collaboration with the Lebanese Army. On June 30, the first musical event will take place featuring the band "Adonis," followed by another artistic event on July 1. On July 7, the "Spirit of Batroun" festival will occur, along with the Batroun Photography Award between July 15 and August 13. On July 22 and 23, artist George Khabbaz will present a concert titled "Jaiyi Al-Ayam," and the festivals will conclude with the Mediterranean Short Film Festival on September 7, 8, 9, and 10.
