The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced through its official Twitter account that Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud met with his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock in Jeddah today, Monday.
The ministry indicated that the meeting addressed regional and international issues, stating, "In light of the numerous challenges in the region, from the acute crisis in Sudan, the long-standing conflicts in Syria and Yemen, to the Taliban's takeover in Afghanistan, establishing reliable dialogue with Gulf partners is essential for Germany and Europe."
The ministry quoted Baerbock: "The Gulf region is a geopolitical center between Asia, Africa, and Europe, and its influence extends beyond the Arabian Peninsula."
During her visit to Saudi Arabia, Foreign Minister Baerbock met with her Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan, where they exchanged views on the situation in Sudan and ways to end the fighting. They also affirmed their commitment to working together to address regional and global challenges.
