World Bank Grants Morocco a $450 Million Loan

The World Bank announced in a statement that it has granted Morocco a loan of $450 million to enhance financial and digital inclusion. The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) also approved a two-year agreement with Morocco under the Flexible Credit Line, designed for crisis prevention, worth about $5 billion. This agreement will strengthen Morocco's external precautionary reserves and provide guarantees against any potential extreme risks, according to the Moroccan News Agency. Since 2012, Morocco has benefited from four consecutive agreements under the liquidity and precautionary line, each worth around $3 billion. The first approval for the liquidity and precautionary line came on August 3, 2012, with approvals for the three additional agreements on July 28, 2014, July 22, 2016, and December 17, 2018.
