The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bou Habib, met today, Monday, with the Russian ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov. Bou Habib also confirmed in a phone call with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong that "the Israeli threat to strike and destroy Lebanon is not beneficial." He asked, "How does Israel benefit from the mass killing of Palestinian civilians? Does that not increase their desire to react and defend themselves?" Bou Habib emphasized the "necessity to stop the Israeli war." He stated, "I agreed with the Australian Foreign Minister on the need to support the diplomatic path to reach a two-state solution."
