The director of the Tour de France, Christian Prudhomme, announced on Friday that the organizers are prepared to handle any situation amidst the unrest across the country following the police shooting of a young man. Prudhomme stated, "We are in constant contact with state authorities and are monitoring the situation as it develops." Law enforcement officers have been assigned to secure the race at the end of each stage, and questions have arisen about the possibility of them being withdrawn to address riot control tasks. Prudhomme added, "Depending on the situation and what happens, we will adapt if necessary." The race will start in Bilbao tomorrow, Saturday, and will enter France on Monday, concluding in Bayonne while beginning from Dax in the fourth stage on Tuesday.
