Spanish authorities have released three Real Madrid youth players after they were arrested on Thursday for sharing sexually explicit videos of a minor under the age of 16 via WhatsApp. Investigation sources reported that the judge decided to release the trio after the data was cleared from their mobile phones. The arrests were made in light of a potential crime involving the dissemination of sexual secrets rather than assault, as the relationship was consensual.
The incidents occurred in the Canary Islands at the beginning of summer, with the complaint being filed by the minor's mother to the Civil Guard on September 6. The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" indicated that the mother and daughter filed a complaint in Santa Maria de Guía (Las Palmas) regarding recordings of sexual relations that were consensually made but recorded without consent, as well as the subsequent distribution of these recordings.
