Today, Wednesday, caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with Minister of Interior and Municipalities Judge Bassam Mawlawi at the Grand Serail, where they discussed ministry matters. Retired Major General Elias Jan Khoury, the Director General of Personal Status, participated in the meeting.
Mikati also met with Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, discussing the security situation and military affairs, including the situation in the south in light of Israeli violations.
**Budget Meeting**
The Prime Minister chaired a meeting to discuss the 2023 budget, attended by Deputy Prime Minister Saadeh al-Shami, Minister of Finance Youssef Khalil, former ministers and advisors to Mikati, Nikola Nahas and Samir Dahar, and the Director General of the Ministry of Finance George Mraoui.
During the meeting, discussions continued on the items and proposals, with the final draft of the budget expected to be ready within a week for distribution to the ministers, in preparation for its review in consecutive Cabinet meetings.
