Kremlin: The West is Aggressive, but We Adhere to Our Nuclear Doctrine

The Russian presidency (Kremlin) stated today, Wednesday, that "the West shows its aggression towards Russia," and clarified that when it comes to nuclear weapons, Moscow has its nuclear doctrine, which has not changed. Earlier today, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev stated that the "destructive" policies of the United States and its allies increase the risk of using nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons. In response to a question regarding these statements, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov affirmed, "Patrushev is the Secretary of the Security Council. He is part of the Kremlin. His statements are statements from the Kremlin." Peskov added, "For the Russian Federation, we have a doctrine that clearly outlines everything. There is no change. The president has confirmed that."
