The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Wednesday that the agreement between Israel and Hamas on a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza and the release of some hostages is a "positive development." The ministry said, "We expect full compliance with the agreement." It added in a statement: "We hope that this humanitarian ceasefire will help bring about a permanent end to the current conflict as soon as possible and initiate a process towards fair and lasting peace based on a two-state solution." Turkey has strongly criticized the Israeli attacks on Gaza and calls for a complete ceasefire there. It has also called for the prosecution of Israeli leaders in international courts for war crimes.
