Cholera Sweeps Through Al-Jazirah State in Sudan

In the city of Wad Madani, the capital of Al-Jazirah State in central Sudan, medical sources raised the alarm, revealing to "Al Arabiya.net" that emergency departments in hospitals and treatment centers in the city have recorded hundreds of cholera cases, including at least seven fatalities. Medical sources confirmed that the situation is catastrophic and on the verge of collapse, with health disasters, primarily the cholera outbreak, dengue fever, and malaria, threatening Al-Jazirah State, which is witnessing a massive influx of displaced individuals fleeing the horrors of war in Khartoum. Wad Madani is located approximately 181 kilometers south of Khartoum.

Currently, hospitals are experiencing unprecedented overcrowding, alongside a decline in health services and prolonged water and electricity outages within hospitals. Eyewitnesses told "Al Arabiya.net" that some patients are forced to rent beds to be placed in hallways or outdoor areas to receive treatment due to the overcrowding of rooms and wards.
