Today, Monday, the head of the "Free Patriotic Movement," Gibran Bassil, welcomed the head of the "Progressive Socialist Party," Timour Jumblatt, in Batroun. They discussed political and national issues and had lunch together, followed by a tour of Batroun to observe urban development and the economic situation.
Sources from the meeting noted that "the encounter was marked by a great deal of warmth and sincerity," focusing on the best ways to strengthen national unity and position Lebanon more robustly against internal challenges and significant risks arising from a tense regional and international landscape.
Both parties agreed on a "joint approach regarding the Israeli war on Gaza," and to enhance the relationship between the "Free Patriotic Movement" and the "Progressive Socialist Party." They also agreed to tackle internal issues through dialogue and understanding wherever possible. Additionally, they emphasized "the importance of conducting presidential elections as a foundation for reconstituting power" and agreed on enhancing stability in the mountain region, developing communal life, and opening avenues for cooperation in developmental fields.
