Aby Rami in Meeting with the French Senate: The Presence of Displaced Persons Means the End of Lebanon

After participating in the meetings of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, MP Simon Aby Rami moved to Paris where he met with members of the French Senate from the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Lebanese-French Friendship Committee. He handed them a report on the reality of Syrian displacement in Lebanon, warning that Syrian displacement poses a significant threat to the Lebanese entity, as the permanence of Syrian displaced persons in Lebanon means the demise of Lebanon, which can no longer bear these numbers of displaced individuals. Aby Rami outlined the negative repercussions of displacement on various economic, social, and security sectors, noting what Justice Minister Henry Khoury stated, that thirty percent of the judicial cases in Lebanese courts involve Syrian displaced persons, which underscores the security threat displacement poses to Lebanese society.
