Minister Sleiman Franjieh affirmed that he has never held any hostile view towards any country, especially Saudi Arabia, and that he wishes well for both Arabs and Saudi Arabia. "We were born and raised in an Arab household and have always publicly affirmed our Arab identity in various circumstances." Following his visit to Patriarch Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi in Bkirki, Franjieh stated, "We do not accept any aggression towards any Arab country." He mentioned that his visit to Paris involved simple questions about supporting reforms, affirming that he has a vision and supports any reformist government and agreements with the International Monetary Fund.
Regarding the issue of Syrian refugees, he said it would be a priority, reiterating that his position on addressing this issue and the return of refugees to their country has always been clear, which contrasts with the fluctuating stances of some. He noted that he will "leverage his relationship with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Hezbollah for the benefit of the country." Franjieh called on everyone to observe the settlements beginning in the region and how adversaries are reconciling, indicating that this will reflect on Lebanon. He expressed his readiness to engage in dialogue with everyone, tackle all matters, and address all concerns.
He confirmed his readiness for dialogue, stating, "Anyone with concerns, we are ready to engage in conversation with them, and I have no embarrassment towards anyone," adding that his goal is not power but rather to be a president who leaves his mark. He stated, "I have heard a veto on my name from the Lebanese media, but I have never heard it from the Kingdom or its friends and allies," emphasizing that he will not concede any powers of the presidency if elected. Regarding the issue of arms, he indicated that he is in favor of calling for a national defense strategy to protect Lebanon and is "in favor of discussing a defense strategy that serves Lebanon and alleviates the concerns of all."
