Hamas: The American Veto is

A member of the political bureau of Hamas, Ezzat al-Risheq, stated that "the movement strongly condemns the United States' use of the veto against a resolution in the Security Council that calls for an immediate ceasefire for humanitarian reasons in the Gaza Strip," considering that "Washington's position is unethical and inhumane." He viewed that "America's obstruction of a ceasefire resolution is direct participation in the occupation's killing of our people and committing more massacres and ethnic cleansing." Earlier, the Security Council failed to adopt a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza after the United States vetoed the proposal. The resolution received support from 13 council members, with one member, the United Kingdom, abstaining from voting, while the United States exercised its veto.
