Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev pointed out that the "Taliban" managed to reduce drug production in Afghanistan by 95% in one year, while NATO and Washington were unable to do so for 20 years. Medvedev noted on "Telegram" that, according to data from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, drug production in Afghanistan has decreased by 95% since the end of 2022, due to a reduction in the area planted with poppies from 233 to 11 thousand hectares, and opium production from 6,200 to 333 tons.
