OpenAI, a leading company in artificial intelligence, announced on Monday that it will launch a version of ChatGPT targeting major corporations, increasing the overlap between what OpenAI offers and that of Microsoft, which financially supports it, for their clients. OpenAI stated that ChatGPT Enterprise provides more secure access, privacy, and higher speed to the ChatGPT technology. Among the first customers are companies like Block, Carlyle, and Estée Lauder. A Reuters/Ipsos survey indicated that many people in the United States use ChatGPT to assist them with work-related tasks, despite their companies' reluctance to endorse its use. OpenAI hopes that by launching ChatGPT Enterprise, companies will feel more comfortable adopting ChatGPT in their work. OpenAI and Microsoft have previously offered overlapping services, and it is unclear how much the two companies compete for client acquisition. A spokesperson for OpenAI mentioned that "clients have the choice of the right platform for their business" when asked whether ChatGPT Enterprise competes with Microsoft for attracting clients.
