The governor of the Kherson region, Oleksandr Prokudin, announced that "Russian forces shelled the city of Kherson in southern Ukraine today, resulting in the deaths of 3 people and injuring at least 12, including a two-month-old infant, in addition to damaging a hospital and homes." Russian troops withdrew from Kherson and the western bank of the Dnipro River in the region late last year, but they have continued to bomb those areas from positions on the eastern bank. Prokudin stated that "two people were killed and 10 others were injured in a double attack this afternoon in the central part of the city." He added that "eight vehicles, including an ambulance, an administrative building, a hospital, and at least 15 homes were destroyed or damaged."
