Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced today, Friday, that the Palestinian Authority is ready to take responsibility for the Gaza Strip as part of a comprehensive political solution. Abbas emphasized that Gaza is an integral part of the State of Palestine, "and we will fully assume our responsibilities within the framework of a comprehensive political solution for both the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip."
