The Association of Insurance Companies hosted Minister of Economy and Trade in the caretaker government, Amin Salam, today, Friday, at the association's headquarters in Hazmieh. This occasion allowed Salam to discuss the relationship between the Ministry of Economy and insurance companies. At the beginning of the meeting, the General Assembly, chaired by the association's president, Asaad Mirza, and attended by association advisor and former minister Ziad Baroud, approved the budget for the year 2023. The assembly, chaired by Abdo Khoury, also approved the budget for the National Institution for Mandatory Insurance. Following that, Salam held a meeting with the General Assembly of the insurance companies, where Mirza welcomed the minister and spoke about the concerns facing the insurance sector under current conditions, hoping for the continuation of a good relationship between the Ministry of Economy and Trade and the association. For his part, the minister announced the "formation of a committee to address the issue of life insurance and to implement standard 21 with the Ministry of Finance," emphasizing that he is "with the insurance sector and maintaining its continuity."
