Serbian police noted on Monday that "eight police officers were injured, and 38 individuals were arrested during and after an opposition protest against the election results." The head of the police department, Ivica Ivkovic, stated that "two of the eight injured police officers have severe injuries." Thousands gathered in the center of the Serbian capital, Belgrade, on Sunday, demanding the cancellation of the parliamentary and local elections held the previous week, which international observers described as unfair. Protesters smashed windows and glass at the main entrance of the municipal building before police dispersed them around 10 PM (21:00 GMT).
