A force from the Jordanian anti-narcotics department arrested two drug dealers and importers, one of whom is classified as highly dangerous, linked to regional drug smuggling gangs. This happened after they engaged in a shootout with the authorities, as reported by "Russia Today."
The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated that based on intelligence information about a member of a regional gang located in a nearby Arab country smuggling a large quantity of narcotic pills and delivering them to people inside Jordan for sale, a security team from the anti-narcotics administration set up ambushes in the surrounding area (without specifying it). As soon as they arrived and began the raid, the suspects opened fire, prompting the team to respond until they gained control and arrested them.
One of the dealers was treated for injuries sustained during the clash, and a search of their vehicle revealed 200,000 narcotic pills and three firearms. It was also noted that the necessary official channels will be used to communicate with Interpol regarding the drug dealer and smuggler located in a neighboring Arab country.
