Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh affirmed that Israel is imposing a comprehensive siege on Gaza and committing war crimes, noting that hospitals in Gaza are turning into graveyards due to the Israeli blockade. In a speech from Ramallah today, he stated that Gaza is experiencing genocide and is a disaster-stricken area. He clarified that Israel has cut off water to Gaza, which is contrary to international humanitarian law, and pointed out that it bombed southern Gaza after calling for the evacuation of residents there.
Regarding Israel's orders for Gaza residents to evacuate their homes and head south, Shtayyeh emphasized that the Palestinian people will not leave their land, indicating that Israel is attempting to distribute Gaza's population to countries around the world, which is unacceptable. He also mentioned that President Abbas assured U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken of the rejection of any plan to displace Gaza’s residents.
"Our people endure massacres and reject displacement," Shtayyeh added, stating that his people do not accept being displaced or turned into refugees. He revealed that Israel has distributed weapons to settlers to kill unarmed Palestinians. He further indicated that Israel prevents any aid from entering the Gaza Strip and called on it to stop the crimes of settlers in the West Bank. Shtayyeh added that there is a need for a political solution that leads to the end of the occupation and the establishment of a Palestinian state, stressing that failure to resolve the Palestinian issue means the continuation of the conflict in the Middle East.
