Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea indicated that what is happening between Hamas and the Israelis is war in every sense of the word, and he does not believe that the situation on the Lebanese-Israeli border will escalate. He added via MTV that the war between Gaza and the Israelis has strategic calculations regarding the Middle East, particularly concerning Iran. He pointed out that as long as there is no solution to the Palestinian issue, things remain open to various surprises, and a solution must be found based on the two-state principle. Geagea continued that "there is no such thing as Hezbollah in what is happening between Hamas and the Israelis; the decision is in Iran," stating: "We must work to prevent the southern front from igniting, and I note a significant absence of the Lebanese government." He clarified that Israeli violations are unacceptable and that the resolution of the Palestinian issue cannot be achieved through wars or the notion of eliminating Israel.
