Russian Shelling Injures 38, Including 12 Children

Ukrainian officials announced today, Tuesday, that at least 38 people were injured, including 12 children, due to Russian shelling in the town of Pervomaiskyi in the Kharkiv region of northeastern Ukraine. Kharkiv Governor Oleg Synehubov stated that "the shelling occurred at 13:35 Kyiv time (10:35 GMT) and set several cars on fire." He added that "the shelling caused windows to shatter in an eight-story building."

The Director of the Office of President Volodymyr Zelensky, Andriy Yermak, noted that "by three o'clock in the afternoon, we are aware of a large number of injured, with 31 people taken to the hospital, including nine children, two of whom are infants, one aged one year and the other ten months."

A former commander of a combat unit known as the "Azov Battalion," which is now part of the Ukrainian army, mentioned that the shelling took place while residents were gathering for the funeral of soldier Oleg Vadyenko, who he said was killed in battle near Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine.
