Theft in Talabaya: Stolen Goods Worth Thousands in Dollars

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "In the context of the continuous follow-up by the Internal Security Forces to combat various types of crimes and reduce them, one of the houses in the town of Talabaya was robbed in May of this year in a professional manner by unknown individuals, who stole a quantity of jewelry, hunting weapons, and a firearm, with an estimated value of around 10,000 US dollars."

The statement added: "As a result of the extensive investigations and inquiries conducted by the Zahle Judicial Police Division, suspicions arose regarding a person named M. M. D. (born in 1986, Lebanese), who has a criminal record for theft and drug-related offenses. After a careful monitoring operation, the police raided his location in the town of Talabaya. When he attempted to flee, he was arrested after a warning shot was fired by one of the officers to compel him to comply. During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him, stating that he committed the theft in partnership with two unknown individuals who work for a drug dealer from the town of Hourtala, and at his instigation, in exchange for swapping the stolen goods for drugs."
