Video - At least 30 killed as train derails in Pakistan

A local Geo radio station reported, citing a regional official, that a passenger train derailed in southern Pakistan on Sunday, resulting in at least 30 fatalities and 80 injuries. Nearly ten carriages of the train went off the tracks in the Nawabshah area of Sindh province, about 275 kilometers from Karachi, the country's largest city. Geo has reported that some individuals are still trapped inside the train carriage and that others have been transported to hospitals. Train services to interior Sindh have been suspended, and rescue teams have been dispatched to the scene. Sad news: At least 15 people died and over 50 were injured after 10 bogies of the Rawalpindi-bound Hazara Express derailed near Sahara Railway Station, located between Shahzadpur and Nawabshah. Train accidents occur frequently in Pakistan's dilapidated railway system, and successive governments have attempted for years to secure funding to develop the network as part of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative for infrastructure projects.
