The caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with the Mufti of Hasbaya and Marjeyoun, Sheikh Hassan Dali, and a delegation that included the heads of municipalities in the region this morning at the Grand Serail. The discussions focused on the security situation in the area and the suffering of residents due to the Israeli aggression on villages and towns, in addition to some urgent service demands. During the meeting, the Prime Minister praised the resilience of the residents in their land despite all the difficulties they face. He emphasized that the government is making all diplomatic and political communications to address the current situations and to stop the Israeli aggression. Simultaneously, it is preparing an operational emergency plan in case of any new developments. He expressed hope that "the pressures being exerted on the Israeli enemy will succeed in stopping the aggression on Gaza and the ongoing Israeli violations of Lebanese territories."
The Prime Minister also met with the commissioners general for the Lebanese government at "Expo Doha", including the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture Louis Lahoud and the Director General of the Ministry of Economy and Trade Mohamed Abu Haidar. Preparations were discussed for the launch of the Lebanese pavilion at Expo Doha 2023, themed "Green Desert, Better Environment," and the programs and activities that will be showcased in the Lebanese pavilion during the months of the expo.
