"Al-Ittihad" Announces the Signing of Brazilian Fabinho

Al-Ittihad, the defending champion of the Saudi Professional League, announced today, Monday, that it has signed Fabinho, the midfielder from Liverpool and the Brazilian national team, for a duration of three years. The club shared a video of Fabinho on Twitter titled: "The Tigers are allowed to cross." The video mocked media headlines that spoke about the failure or delay of the deal.

The club did not disclose the financial details, but previous reports indicated that the transfer fee for Fabinho to Al-Ittihad would be approximately £40 million ($51.43 million). Fabinho, 29 years old, did not travel with Liverpool's squad for the training camp in Germany in preparation for the new season. He joined Liverpool from Monaco in 2018 and has played 219 matches for the team, winning the Premier League and the Champions League among other titles.
