Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé suffered an injury on Sunday evening during his match against Marseille in the "Classico" of Ligue 1, in the highlight of the sixth round of the 2023-2024 season. PSG achieved a convincing 4-0 victory over Marseille, but lost their star player Kylian Mbappé, who exited the match after about half an hour due to the injury.
According to "Amazon Prime Video," which broadcasts Ligue 1, the initial examinations Mbappé underwent were reassuring, indicating that the player only sustained a severe bruise and did not suffer a sprained ankle. The same source noted that Mbappé commented while leaving the pitch, "I am injured," and in reality, the player had already been wearing a compression bandage on his ankle since the start of the match, which may explain the pain he was experiencing.
Additionally, Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique addressed Mbappé's injury, sending a reassuring message to the club's fans. Enrique stated in comments to "Amazon Prime Video" after the match about Mbappé’s injury: "It’s not a serious problem, but there is pain. I think his exit was the smartest decision. It was just a knock, and finally, things are moving in the right direction."
