On Saturday, Timur Jumblatt, the head of the "Progressive Socialist Party" and a member of parliament, reiterated the party's and the Democratic Gathering's stance that always calls for productive dialogue amidst the ongoing political stalemate. He welcomed the upcoming visit of Maronite Patriarch Beshara Al-Rahi to the Mountain next Friday, aiming to cement the fruits of reconciliation and build upon its achievements. He expressed hope that the logic of compromise and reconciliation will prevail in all our national issues that are under discussion.
During statements made on the sidelines of today's receptions at the Mukhtara Palace, Jumblatt addressed pressing social, economic, and educational issues. In this context, he emphasized the importance of providing necessary attention to public schools and the Lebanese University, striving to rescue the upcoming academic year, and allowing all students in public and private schools to receive education. He also called for ensuring the legitimate rights and incentives of teachers and enabling the State Employees Cooperative to provide healthcare for them and their families.
