China Approves Resumption of Flights with North Korea

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated on Monday that "Beijing has agreed to allow North Korean Airlines (Air Koryo) to resume flights to China." This approval follows a report from South Korean news agency "Yonhap," which stated that "the borders between North Korea and China are gradually reopening, with an increase in train services." China is North Korea's largest trading partner and its biggest neighboring country. Based on the airline's application, China has approved the regular flight schedule for the Pyongyang-Beijing-Pyongyang passenger route operated by Air Koryo, following the appropriate procedures, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated on Monday, adding that specific flights will be announced.
