Title: "The Party" Dismantles Bassil's Conditions... Mikati Prepares for a Visit to Baabda

Title:

In parallel to "Hezbollah" continuing to cater to the President of the "Free Patriotic Movement," MP Gebran Bassil, regarding the presidency, "Nidaa al-Watan" learned that the pressures exerted by the "Party" in government matters succeeded yesterday in dismantling Bassil's governmental conditions and removing them from circulation, whether concerning the government structure, its shares, or the list of appointments he requested to be approved in the first sessions of the new Cabinet. Accordingly, a source closely following the governmental communications confirmed that "matters have returned to follow the formation path, with renewed discussions and consultations now focused on the issue of making ministerial adjustments that involve replacing two or three names at most in some ministerial portfolios." The source clarified to "Nidaa al-Watan" that the intensive communications led by "Hezbollah" in recent hours resulted in "the cancellation of Bassil's request to delay the formation until mid-next month in hopes of improving his governmental conditions, under the pressure of Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati shutting his doors to any possibility of yielding to these conditions, regardless of how long the formation process takes." The source indicated that "after confirming in the upcoming hours that 'Hezbollah' had succeeded in bringing the President of the 'Free Patriotic Movement' down from his unrealistic demands," the Prime Minister-designate would resume his moves towards the Baabda Palace to continue his consultations with President Michel Aoun, with a tendency for Mikati to request an appointment to visit Aoun "as soon as matters mature to finalize the formation within a timeframe that should not exceed the end of the upcoming week."
