Residents of the Russian city of Murmansk, located in the Arctic region, warmly welcomed the sunrise. They greeted the first sunlight, which lasted only 37 minutes, following a polar night that lasted a full 40 days. Some climbed the highest mountain in the city to pay their respects to the sun. Although the sunrise was brief, it signifies a lot for the residents, who recognize that the weather is moving toward spring, as they took photos and danced.
