There have been no reports of damage or injuries as a result of this earthquake. The Franchia County is located in the bend of the Central Carpathian Mountains and is the most seismically active area in Romania. In 1977, an earthquake with a magnitude of 8 occurred in this region, reaching approximately 7.5 in intensity, resulting in the deaths of about 1,500 people.
