UN: North Korean Missile Poses Danger to Civil Aviation

The Assistant Secretary-General for the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, Khaled Khiary, stated on Monday that "the launch of the North Korean missile poses a serious danger to international civil aviation and maritime navigation." He noted in a statement that "the Democratic People's Republic of Korea issued a prior notice to the Japanese Coast Guard regarding the missile launch, but it did not issue safety alerts concerning airspace or maritime navigation to the International Maritime Organization, the International Civil Aviation Organization, or the International Telecommunication Union."
