Spartan World Championship Kicks Off Tomorrow in Abu Dhabi

The Spartan World Championship 2023 will kick off tomorrow, Friday, in Abu Dhabi, hosted and organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in collaboration with Spartan (the leading global brand in endurance and obstacle sports). The competition will take place in the Al Wathba desert, near the Al Wathba Desert Resort.

The event spans three days filled with races, where participants will test their muscular abilities in challenges of strength, endurance, and speed. Participants will also enjoy free entry to the Sheikh Zayed Festival. The championship will open its doors tomorrow to welcome participants starting at 12 PM, with the first race of 3 km starting at 2:30 PM, followed by the night race of 5 km at 5:30 PM, which are the two races newly added to this year’s agenda.

The following day, Saturday, features a packed schedule of races, including the Elite World Championship over 21 km, which starts at 7:30 AM, the Age Group World Championship over 21 km, the Open Beast "21 km, 30 obstacles," as well as competitive and open children's challenges "½ mile - 2 miles, 5-20 obstacles."

The championship will conclude next Sunday with a bustling schedule, including the Elite Team Relay World Championship 3 km, the Open Super "10 km, 25 obstacles," the Open Sprint "5 km, 20 obstacles," and the Open Children’s Championship "½ mile - 2 miles, 5-20 obstacles."
