Moe Amery, a former Canadian MP of Lebanese origin, passed away in Alberta, Canada, at the age of 69 after a battle with illness. He will be buried following Friday prayers at the family cemetery in his hometown of Lala, Bekaa. Moe Amery was married to Maryam Abu Ghosh, and they had five children, the eldest being Qassem, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General in Alberta. The late Amery immigrated to Canada in 1974, studied at the University of Alberta, and was first elected to the Alberta Legislature in 1993. He served as an MP for Calgary in the Conservative Party for six consecutive terms. In addition to his regular responsibilities as a member of the legislative assembly, Amery held several positions, sponsored the "Wildlife Modification Act," and introduced the "Maintenance Enforcement Amendment Act."
