Israel Approves Appointment of New Foreign Minister

The statement added that Cohen will remain a member of the security cabinet, and Yisrael Katz will assume the position of Foreign Minister. The decision is subject to parliamentary approval. The Israeli government also approved the delayed municipal elections to be held in February, which will also be subject to parliamentary approval. A statement from the Prime Minister's office noted, "We do not usually hold elections during wartime, but these elections were scheduled in advance... They have already been postponed once."
