EgyptAir announced that its flight MS829, operated by a B737-800, changed its route and made an emergency landing at Athens International Airport after it was headed to Benina Airport in Benghazi due to bad weather conditions. The airline stated that "the aircraft had to change its route with 111 passengers on board due to a lack of visibility caused by dust and difficulties in landing at the airport, so the flight was redirected to the planned alternate airport, which is Athens International Airport."
